Pool Point Of View – Scottsdale Secret Garden

Designing a custom pool and backyard is a unique and fun process. At California Pools & Landscape we strive to create the ultimate backyard environment for our customers. Every backyard is different, and we take great pride in fulfilling every individual’s dream design.

In the ‘Scottsdale Secret Garden’ our design team created a stunning oasis in the middle of a secret botanical garden. This mid-century modern Scottsdale home features several unique design elements, handcrafted with a one of a kind design.

What’s Your Point Of View?

The 4-foot long raised window wall is the focal point of view from the home. It is covered with Kyoto Nihon Reflection tile that adds a vivid pop of blue, especially when paired with the Frost Travertine. The window wall features a 36” stainless steel Smooth Flow Scupper that adds an instant ambiance to the backyard.

The pool features our Sea Glass Pebble interior with a Mediterranean finish and double the abalone shell which adds to the sparkle of the pool. A large 78sf Baja Shelf with a mini bubbler water feature offers a great entry into the pool and a large surface area for relaxation in the shallow water.

The waterline tile is a 6-inch Caeles by Noble Tile that has a beautiful color variation. The geometric pool is stacked with design accents on its rear wall. The aforementioned window wall sits on top of a stunning 16” raised wall, covered with White Oak 3D Honed stacked stone. There is also a bench in the deep end of the pool, offering a great destination for relaxation.

The pool is surrounded by Frost Tumbled Travertine Pavers, which add a striking modern touch to the project. This beautiful oasis is the star of this backyard, but it’s surrounded by several other design features that complete the backyard.

What’s The Whole Yard Approach?

When designing your backyard oasis, we encourage considering all the aspects that are present in your environment along with the functionality that you’d like to achieve.

In this Scottsdale backyard, creating a modern geometric pool while not disturbing the existing landscaping environment was important. The existing concrete pads throughout the yard add to the geometric design aspects of the pool. The shower structure adds a unique opportunity to showcase art and landscaping while disguising the shower from view.

The freeflow walkways add some variance and lead to the secret garden. The garden in the rear of the backyard is truly hidden by vegetation and features several botanical treasures in a relaxing environment. The whimsical path winds throughout the plant life and stops off in a secret sitting area. The side yard also features several cacti along with desert flora, with a beautiful winding rock formation.

The backyard offers several areas for relaxation and entertaining. The large outdoor kitchen offers built in surface area for grilling and smoking meats.

Ready To Create Your Paradise?

Hopefully, this Scottsdale Secret Garden sparked some ideas of design elements that you might enjoy in your own backyard. Selecting pool and backyard elements as well as design features is a fun part of the process. It’s important to consider what will fit into your home’s environment and be enjoyed by you and your family.
