Pool Design Ideas: Grecian Gem In Mesa

About This Mesa Backyard

These Mesa customers wanted to add a pool in the backyard with a natural look and feel to match the surrounding desert environment. Creating additional areas around the pool for entertainment and relaxation was also important. Maintaining an open design and flow in the yard was part of the vision as well.

The focal point from inside the home is the raised curved wall that cuts into the Grecian pool and serves as a natural backdrop. The Noche Travertine in a Herringbone Pattern surrounds the pool, adding elegance to the area and contributing to the natural color palette of the design.

There are additional destinations for enjoyment beyond the pool in this outdoor living space. The bbq grill creates a natural area for outdoor entertainment and enjoyment. On the other side of the yard, the artificial turf adds a vibrant color pop and a comfortable area to relax or play. together with the travertine and stacked stone design elements.

Natural Grecian Pool Design

Creating a clean and natural design to match the feel of the home was at the top of the list for our design team. This grecian pool with its 30-inch raised pool wall instantly grabs your eye when looking out from the home. The three window cutouts in the wall provide a unique look and added symmetry to the design. The wall is covered with 2”x2” Split Face Travertine in Crema and capped with the matching Noche Travertine.

The Arctic Sea Glass Pebble Interior really sparkles in this Grecian pool, creating an oasis in the desert. Don’t worry, it’s not a mirage! The Turquoise Mirage waterline tile is very real and contrasts beautifully with the natural crema color of the raised wall.

Another design highlight on this Grecian pool is the 38sq ft baja shelf created in an arc to match the raised wall. The shelf sits 16-inches below the water line and adds balance to the design of the pool. This Mesa pool is a great representation of our Play Pool, with the depth starting at 3ft in the shallow end, dropping to 5ft in the middle and then going up to 4ft. These dimensions offer a great opportunity to maximize water sports, swimming and relaxation.

Incorporating Design Elements Throughout The Yard

The outdoor kitchen features a bbq grill, with 70sq ft of counter space in the Noche Travertine. The bbq island is 9’ x 3’ and offers plenty of storage space as well. For a special design pop, the bottom of the island features the 2”x2” Split Face Travertine in Crema to match the look of the raised pool wall.

The landscaping in this backyard adds the last splash with it’s natural colored granite rock and desert flora. The artificial turf adds additional color to the landscape design and some additional area for activity or relaxation.
