Unique Cocktail Pool Ideas

At California Pools & Landscape, we strive to create the ultimate backyard for every customer. Many homeowners today are looking for cocktail pool ideas that fit smaller spaces while still delivering style, comfort, and functionality. In our Rio Verde project, “Cocktail Off The Course,” our design team collaborated with the homeowner to create a custom backyard featuring a cocktail pool, fire pit, and outdoor kitchen. The result is a one-of-a-kind desert oasis that proves how versatile and eye-catching cocktail pools can be.

A Unique Perspective on Smaller Backyards

Cocktail Pools are very popular because they take up a smaller footprint in your backyard compared to a standard pool, yet offer plenty of space to cool off, relax or entertain. With endless design options, a cocktail pool can clearly be the star of a backyard, like this one in Rio Verde, AZ.

This cocktail pool sits in the perfect focal point from this Rio Verde home. The two pillars with smooth flow scuppers are positioned to catch your eyes and your ears, with their smooth appearance and soothing sounds. The homeowner desired the ability to cool off after hitting the golf course and the cocktail pool is the perfect match for that!

The 62 sqft baja shelf sits 15” below the water, which is a perfect height to relax in pool chairs and enjoy a cocktail.

The 18-foot long swimming cocktail pool features our Mediterranean Sea Glass Pebble with double abalone, which adds to the vibrance and sparkle of the pool. The Granito Dolomite Grey waterline tile transitions from the pool up to the water feature pillars.

The deep colors and textures of the tile give it an appearance of a natural stone, that pairs beautifully with the concrete pavers surrounding the pool. The 18” Smooth Flow Scuppers add a wonderful natural ambiance to the backyard setting, helping to block out any unwanted sound.

What’s The Whole Yard Approach?

When designing a pool, it’s important to consider all the aspects that are present in your home. We take this whole yard approach to ensure your pool is surrounded by other functional aspects in the yard.

For the ‘Cocktail Off The Course’, a combination of artificial turf, landscaping and concrete pavers lead to destinations throughout the backyard. The outdoor kitchen and fire pit offer wonderful space for relaxation and entertainment on enjoyable desert nights. The landscaping puts the finishing touches on this vibrant backyard environment.

A combination of shrubs, desert flora, and ground cover add an element of privacy and some vibrant colors to the backyard.
