California Pools & Landscape Honored with 17 of PebbleTec’s 2025 World’s Greatest Pools
California Pools & Landscape was recognized with 17 World’s Greatest Pools Awards of 2025 by Pebble Technology, the most of any pool builder in the world. Seven of the awards showcased swimming pool design and building excellence through outstanding photography, and 10 awards were given for video submissions, which you can view below.
The annual awards by Pebble Technology International recognize the best swimming pools from around the globe. All of the contest entries were judged by an independent panel of industry design and Pool/Outdoor Living publication editors.
The CPL projects recognized by Pebble Technology for 2025 are located across Phoenix, in Scottsdale, Gilbert, Paradise Valley, Fountain Hills, Carefree, and Queen Creek. Each award-winning pool showcases not only a brilliant PebbleTec interior surface but also the design materials, craftsmanship, and outdoor living elements that California Pools & Landscape is known for.

Presented by Pebble Technology, these honors include 7 photo submissions and 10 video submissions showcasing our pool designs with Pebble Technology interiors. These projects are more than just stunning backyards. They represent the artistry, craftsmanship, and personal connection our team brings to every build. Fountain Hills Pool Design
Perched on a hillside in scenic Fountain Hills, Arizona, this modern backyard retreat features a stunning negative-edge pool that appears to spill effortlessly into the surrounding desert landscape. The architectural design of the pool creates an illusion of seamless connection between water and sky, making it a dramatic centerpiece that perfectly complements the clean lines of the contemporary home.
The outdoor space is thoughtfully designed with multiple tiers that step gracefully down the slope, enhancing both form and function. This backyard isn’t just an aesthetic statement; it’s a dynamic, modern, resort-style environment designed for relaxation, entertaining, and soaking in the breathtaking panoramic views that Fountain Hills is known for. The Electric Blue Sea Glass Pebble interior provides a dynamic water color for the pool and spa, and a smooth surface for endless enjoyment.
Designer Cody Risdon worked hand in hand with the homeowners to create this modern outdoor living environment on the edge of a sloping hill. This project was awarded both a 2025 World’s Greatest Pools Award for its photography and a 2025 World’s Greatest Pools Video Award.
This dynamic design continues to receive accolades, as the Southwest Hardscape Association also awarded it the 2024 2nd Place award for Residential Swimming Pools with specialty pavers.
Scottsdale Arizona Pool Design
Nestled in the picturesque foothills of Scottsdale, Arizona, this modern backyard retreat is a masterclass in contemporary outdoor living, seamlessly blending sophisticated design with the serene beauty of the desert landscape. The focal point of the space is a striking, custom geometric pool, thoughtfully designed with integrated benches, a spacious baja shelf for lounging, and precision step-trim tiling that echoes the spa’s material palette for a cohesive visual flow.
Anchoring the poolscape are two bold, cantilevered shade structures, each adorned with a captivating rain sheer that spills gracefully from the canopy above. These water features do more than just catch the eye; they create a tranquil, multisensory experience, infusing the space with the soft sounds and fluid motion of falling water, enhancing both ambiance and relaxation.
The modern design materials used by Designer Matt Sauer included porcelain pavers, stunning glass tile, and Topaz Sea Glass Pebble Interior. This project was awarded both a 2025 World’s Greatest Pools Award for its photography and a 2025 World’s Greatest Pools Video Award.
Scottsdale Zero-Edge Masterpiece
This striking zero-edge pool in Scottsdale, Arizona, epitomizes modern backyard luxury, showcasing a minimalist aesthetic and cutting-edge design. Elevated above the ground, the long, geometric pool is wrapped in sleek 6x24 black tile that delivers a bold contrast against the surrounding landscape. The zero-edge design allows water to spill gracefully over every side, creating a mirror-like surface and the illusion of infinite depth. This seamless flow enhances the serene atmosphere while reflecting the vivid desert skies and architecture in a truly captivating way.

Queen Creek Arizona Pool Design
This stunning modern backyard in Queen Creek, Arizona, is a masterclass in geometric design and innovative outdoor living. From the moment you step into the space, you’re greeted with clean lines, crisp contrasts, and a layout that balances contemporary elegance with resort-style relaxation. The centerpiece is a sleek, rectangular pool that features an integrated baja shelf and several modern water features. The sunken structure on the far end of the pool has an attached rainsheer water feature that cascades down to the swim-up bar, creating the ultimate staycation vibe in this backyard.
The Mediterranean Sea Glass Pebble interior pairs brilliantly with the waterline tile, which elevates the visual appeal and modern aesthetic. This project by designer Dave Grau was awarded both a 2025 World’s Greatest Pools Award for its photography and a 2025 World’s Greatest Pools Video Award.
Carefree Arizona Pool Design
This Carefree ultimate backyard is a modern wonder, featuring a negative-edge geometric pool that’s snug to the house. This creates an easy escape from the home, with a lookout into the open, serene desert. Designer Erich Mack gave this spacious outdoor living space a complete makeover, adding new destinations, modern design materials, and a beautiful reflecting pool.
The Sapphire Sea Glass Pebble interior gives this oasis a vibrant blue color and pairs brilliantly with the waterline tile. This project was awarded both a 2025 World’s Greatest Pools Award for its photography and a 2025 World’s Greatest Pools Video Award.
Gilbert Arizona Pool Design
This Gilbert backyard was designed for ultimate family fun, with a striking geometric pool and spa design just steps from the back door. This modern pool design boasts incredible features, including a modern grotto waterslide, elevated spa, baja shelf, and multiple water features.
The Glacier Sea Glass Pebble interior creates a vibrant blue water color, adding to the ultimate oasis vibes of this outdoor living space.
This modern backyard showcase by designer Dave Grau encapsulates how clean lines and beautiful materials can come together for ageless beauty and stunning results.
Scottsdale Mountainside Makeover
This Scottsdale pool and backyard has been featured in several ads for California Pools & Landscape, highlighting the backyard transformation it underwent in 2024. CPL built the original pool in the 90s, and when it was time for a makeover, designer Erich Mack beautifully reimagined the space with a pool refresh, expansive travertine decking, and a modern shade structure.
The Arctic Sea Glass Pebble Interior, featuring double abalone glass, gives the pool a sparkling shine, especially when paired with the striking modern design materials.
California Pools & Landscape was also honored with five additional World’s Greatest Pools Video Awards, each noteworthy for their respective design and craftsmanship.
Scottsdale Modern Monochrome
This modern Scottsdale, AZ backyard is a striking example of luxury desert living, combining sleek contemporary design with resort-style amenities. At the center of the space is a stunning geometric pool, with clean lines and a sophisticated Onyx Pebble interior finish, that contrasts beautifully with the Boulevard Light travertine decking surrounding the pool.
The large pool features an expansive baja shelf, perfect for lounging in shallow water under the sun, as well as a raised water wall with three sheer descent water features, adding a dynamic, tranquil element to the design. Floating travertine step pads offer a stylish and functional way to navigate the pool area while enhancing the overall symmetry of the design.
Scottsdale Sapphire Showcase
This Scottsdale oasis is set against the rugged beauty of the Sonoran Desert, blending luxury living with Arizona’s natural charm. The centerpiece is a crystal-clear, modern pool with a Sapphire Sea Glass Pebble interior. With a sleek raised spa, cascading spillways, and brilliant waterline tile, designer Aaron Heninger created an award-winning Scottsdale oasis.

Radiance at Superstition Vistas
Welcome to the Radiance community pool in Apache Junction, Arizona, a sprawling, resort-style aquatic retreat designed to enhance neighborhood living. Set against the stunning Superstition Mountains, this beautifully planned community amenity features three distinct water zones to cater to a wide range of recreational and relaxation needs.
The centerpiece of the space is a massive main pool featuring Electric Ice Sea Glass Pebble interior, bold tile inlays, and striking branding with “Radiance” and the community’s initials elegantly tiled into the pool floor. Along one side, dedicated lap lanes provide a space for fitness swimmers to stay active. In contrast, the opposite end features a gradual beach-entry design, ideal for families with young children or those who prefer to wade into the water at their own pace.
A third section of the pool features built-in underwater benches, perfect for lounging and socializing while staying cool under the Arizona sun.
Mountain Shadows Resort Sunset Pool
Nestled in the heart of Paradise Valley, Arizona, the Mountain Shadows Resort pool is a breathtaking example of refined desert luxury. This commercial pool was designed not only as a place to cool off and relax, but as a true visual experience, offering an iconic, unobstructed view of the majestic Camelback Mountain that rises dramatically in the background.
The pool is finished in a high-end Electric Blue Sea Glass Pebble interior, known for its durability and elegant shimmer. This premium surface brings a rich texture and a radiant sparkle to the water, enhancing the tranquil blues and reflecting the vivid Arizona sky above.
The Moontower Luxury Apartments Rooftop Pool
The Moontower Luxury Apartments feature a rooftop resort-style pool and spa, 24 floors up, in the heart of downtown Phoenix.
The zero-edge geometric pool is the main attraction in this leisure space, featuring Pebble Fina Acquos interior, which gives a light green appearance to the water.
This modern pool design also features pool benches and cutouts for landscape boxes, adding some shade and natural life for lounging and socializing in the pool.
