Award-Winning Travertine Pool Deck Installation
1st Place - Residential Swimming Pools 2023
This San Tan Valley oasis is a multi-tiered design featuring a stunning negative-edge pool, elevated sit-and-spin spa, multiple fire pits, outdoor kitchen, swim-up bar, and more than 2,200 square feet of travertine pavers.
The San Pedro Tumbled travertine pavers carry throughout the backyard, from just outside the back door to the edges of the property. Its natural tone blends perfectly with the surrounding desert, making it a natural fit in the yard.
The California Pools & Landscape in-house Hardscape team executed this design with four staircases and changes in slope, making it look like a natural lagoon in the Sonoran desert.
2nd Place - Residential Swimming Pools 2023
This tropical oasis in San Tan Valley, Arizona, features just under 1,000 square feet of Arctic White tumbled travertine pavers, which provide a modern feel that matches the home's aesthetic. The decking weaves you throughout the backyard retreat that features an elevated spa, a pool table with seating, vibrant landscaping, and a water feature wall capped with fire bowls.
This freeform pool design has many free-flowing curves, showcasing excellent technical installation. Because the design flow switches naturally between different radii, this complex design and installation are certainly award-worthy.
2nd Place - Residential Patios Over 1,000 Sq Ft
Over 3,500 square feet of travertine pavers were used in the Scottsdale ultimate backyard, creating an outdoor living space that feels like a true destination resort. This backyard features changes in elevation, which led to several retaining walls and staircases added in to the design.
The large negative-edge pool is surrounded by the Silver travertine pool deck and connects to a sunken shade structure with a swim-up bar. On the opposite side of the yard, a raised perimeter overflow spa connects to the pool, where, just steps away, a raised firepit, sports court, and additional seating areas are all connected by the travertine pavers.
Award-Winning Porcelain Paver Installation
Porcelain pavers are our most versatile decking surface option and are the ultimate material finish for a modern backyard design. They are similar to indoor porcelain tiles but thicker and more durable to last in the outdoor environment.
Porcelain pavers typically come in 12x24 or 24x24 sizes, which look best on a geometric pool design versus a curvy, freeform design.
1st Place - Residential Patios Under 1,000 Sq Ft
This Peoria, Arizona, backyard features a sleek, modern design that is highlighted by the design materials that were selected. The 639 square feet of Michaelangelo Extra White Porcelain Pavers start just outside the backdoor and carry throughout the design to the sunken structure at the far end of the yard.
The Porcelain pavers also serve as coping around the pool, spa, and sunken structure. This design highlights an effective way to maximize the use of a high-end material while also using artificial turf and rock to offset the decking.
