Our experience with California Pools from start (planning our pool project and all the details involved in selecting the appropriate materials), the entire construction process, the post-construction orientation (related to operating the pool, the landscape lighting and caring for the landscape plantings, etc.) and any warranty-related issues has been phenomenal. Their entire staff represent the highest in professionalism, expertise and customer service. Responding in a timely manner and working to resolve any and all issues for their customers I would suggest is part of the California Pools "DNA!"

From the day I choose CA Pools & Landscape through project completion, I have always been impressed. They are a TRUE Design-Build team with open communication and transparency. This ensures the customer is always up to speed with any changes. Steve R (Design), Steve D (Construction) along with Jordan, Gabe (Startup) are amazing with their approach. Sara D is the glue that binds it all together. With all the trades involved and ever changing decisions (mostly from me), she was instrumental in keeping the process moving. From initial design to a finished pool, spa landscape package built in less than 2.5 months is Amazing! I will highly recommend them to anyone in need.

Great to deal with all of the staff through designing to construction of the pool. They listened to our ideas got it on paper followed up on details and stayed on top of the job. Great warranty and continue to stay in touch after completion. Handled a couple of small issues quickly and to my complete satisfaction.

CALIFORNIA POOL built our pool 4 years ago, wonderful job, we never had a problem with it. Last weekend the pump decided to quit, we called and the service dept scheduled an appointment right away.Kent Hold came out he was so nice and professional and got the problem fixed, thank you so much.

California Pools & Landscape designed and built my pool, spa and landscaped the backyard nearly 10 years ago. They did a terrific job and since then, have provided very good service and equipment maintenance. For me, there are two people that have been great and make all the difference that I would say have been outstanding; Alison Sherwood and Jesse who heads up their pool/spa field work. The best and I highly recommend them.

Awesome experience with California Pools! They have designed and built two pools for us and both experiences were great! Super nice staff in the Scottsdale office and in the field! Their mobile app kept us up to date on all construction activities and phases. Jeremiah was great - he was consistently on site checking progress and making sure we were happy with all the work. Finished our pool just in time to start the summer. Very happy and would definitely use again!

Love our new pool and back yard. California pools staff helped us all the way with great design ideas and site layout. The installation was handled on schedule, the crews that came to the house were professional and good to deal with. Harscape crew was awesome and the landscaping crew helped us with ideas for other parts of our yard. The tile work was amazing and everyone worked very hard to stay on schedule. Cannot say enough good things about the process and the results!

At the start of our process, we were looking for the least expensive route available. As things went along in our research process, we decided we didn't want to pay more than we had to, but we also wanted to ensure it was done right. We decided there was great value in things like excellent customer service, quality work, good communicaiton, accessibility and flexibility from our sales guy, Dave Grau. He truly listened to what we wanted from a pool and backyard, provided an initial plan, listened to our feedback and gave us several adjusted plans. He suggested Kool Deck over concrete (which we went with) and supported our decision for an in-floor cleaning system, provided suggestions on low maintenance plants (as we knew little about desert landscape options), etc. As the project progressed we really appreciated the updates from Sarah Dougan and the expertise from Sean Bradburn. The cost was somewhat higher than the other couple places we looked into but, as I said before, we wanted it done right and done promptly and CPL was able to get in while the house was being built. It was worth it to us!

In March 2015, a car drove though my fence and into my pool. The entire pool and spa had to be completely rebuilt down to the hole in the ground. California Pools (with project manager Todd Hutchins) did a great job on it. About a month ago I noticed that the pool pump was running loudly and at 100% power most of the time. I contacted Todd about it. He sent Jesse to my house who reset the pump so it purrs at the times I want. Jesse also left me a very clear note about how the pump timers work and how they are set. Another great job! Thank you.

We started our search for our pool and backyard landscape project while our home was under construction, we called numerous pool companies for our project, and we would either not get an answer or a response back after initial contact. Not With California Pools and Landscape, they were very responsive, so we went with them for our project. From the beginning our designer, Chris Robinson paid very close attention to detail and designed exactly what we asked for and when we saw the design, we realized that maybe our design wasn't the best lol. Chris guided us through the changes and made great suggestions and never complained one bit about making the changes.Our Superintendent, Jordan Thrasher then stepped in on the build, Jordan was great to work with, he kept us informed as to every step of the process and if I needed something from Jordan, he would get me an answer to any question of concern that we had in the matter of Minutes. Form the dig to the final walkthrough Jordan was amazing!The softscape crew headed up by Michael McCormick did an incredible job! They were in and out in no time! We had all of our plants picked out and when Michael got here, he made suggestions on where we might should make some moves on, we listened and it came out great, he is very knowledgeable, and we appreciate his efforts very much.Our Schedulers - Myra Olsen, Marissa Puzz, Chris Kelley, Rob Swanson and Stephanie Aguirre were great at notifying us on the Cal Pools portal it made it very easy to follow what was happening and when which we really appreciated.All of the crews that worked on our project were very courteous and cleaned up every day after themselves.All in all, we couldn't be happier!Thanks to the entire California Pools and Lanscape team for making our backyard dream a reality!

I was nervous about getting my first pool so I did my research and found CA Pools. My neighbor also recommended them as they just finished his pool. I had my appt for design and wanted nothing but a rectangle hole in the ground. No fireworks, lazer shows or flowing lava fountains. I had an amount in mind but the estimate came in over that. I told them I wanted to do it but that was just too much. They re-worked some of the design elements to get me where I wanted to be. I Didn't want to waste money on landscaping so I just wanted rock put down. I can plant plants on my own. With their app, they're in constant communication with you through your build which was extremely nice. Every question or concern was addressed All employees I have dealt with have been great and can't say enough about them. I had one issue with a wet spot in the shotcrete that would never dry, that could've been addressed quicker--but it was finally addressed. Things took longer than I anticipated due to shortage of shotcrete, but I understood this and I can't count this against them. My build took from Feb-Dec. I know they maybe a lil more pricey than their competitors, but from the reviews I'd rather have it done right. I know a few neighbors that went with other companies that are still waiting to complete their pools coming up on almost 2 years. That's unacceptable. Go with CA pools, you wont regret it.

In 1995 we had California Pools build our pool, deck and barbecue grill structure on the property of our newly built home. Twenty four years later, it was time to remodel. While searching for a contractor to do the work, we recalled that California Pools focused on "customer satisfaction" and the results that they delivered in 1995 reflected that focus. Even though 24 years is a long time to expect a company's culture to remain the same, we felt that given our previous experience California Pools would be worth another consideration. So they were among the handful of contractors we choose to submit a proposal for our remodel project. California Pools made our choice easy! The expertise of their team was apparent with in every meeting, conversation or email request we submitted. Their proposal was not only very competitive and but easy to understand and no question was too small or insignificant for California Pools not to answer to our satisfaction. For anyone who has undertaken a significant home remodel project, you know that there will likely be obstacles and problems that will need to be overcome. Rarely is the problem itself the ultimate issue, rather how the problem is handled that will make or break customer satisfaction. No company understands this better than California Pools. During our remodel an issue arose that needed the attention of Steve Dreher, Senior Manager of Construction. Steve visited my home assessed the situation and then simply said, "We will take care of everything at no additional cost to you and our work will only be finished when you are completely satisfied". Problem solved! Bill Schlis, Lead Hardscape Manager took charge and made Steve's commitment a reality. Not only did he personally attend to our project's needs but he and his highly qualified crew were a pleasure to work with throughout the process. Bill told me, "California Pools is all about making customers happy" and the results he and his team delivered reflect that belief! Every contractor will tell you that they are committed to making their customers happy. With many, those are just words. The difference here is that California Pools "walks the talk". Steve and Bill along with the rest of the team at California Pools are true professionals. In short if you are planning new or remodeled pool project or have other hardscape plans for your home or business and want a contractor who will perform quality work at a fair market price, I highly recommend California Pools and Landscape and their talented team of professionals. They not only promise but deliver customer satisfaction!

Whenever I need help either diagnosing a problem I was having with my Spool or needed to schedule a repair, her response was in a manner of minutes. Best of all if the solution was something I could handle myself, she walked me through what I needed to do. She is professional, knowledgeable and extremely courteous always offering kind words.

We used California Pools for our new build back yard project (including pool & spa) last summer. They are not going to be the least expensive provider if you're basing a major improvement like this on price alone (which you should strongly reconsider if you are), but we were very impressed with their quality, communication, and follow-through on the inevitable issues and fine details that arise during and after construction. Highly recommended, especially if you are putting in more than a pool (travertine decks, BBQ island/bar, synthetic turf, pergola, etc.) as they have in-house crews that do most of the work (they did sub out the synthetic turf and pergola installation), and you're covered under 1 warranty so there is no finger pointing between contractors to try and get out of their warranty when something goes wrong during construction or down the road. We used Shasta on a previous home. Not a bad experience, but not the very positive experience we had with California Pools. We would choose California Pools again if we ever need to do it again one day.

Our experience with California Pools. Originally I had left a review in February that wasn’t positive. I am amending our previous review because alls well that ends well even if it did take longer than we expected it would be when we signed the contract in July of 2023. Our project was completely finished April 12th. It took until the end of December 2023 to break ground on our dig. That time period was longer than it should have been in our opinion and communication was very challenging with our designer and there was no other person communicating with us until our Construction manager got involved in late Oct/early November. Typical time frame to get a permit in Phoenix proper is 8-10 weeks. So why it took 5 months to get to our dig we will never know. By February we were still struggling some with communication and made that known. Thankfully they put Sara on our job as our liaison and Tim our construction manager made it a point to connect with us weekly after that conversation. Our experience dramatically improved at that point and the remaining part of the project went smoothly and quickly. Tim was very helpful as well in staying and overseeing our fill and some other parts when we were out of town for two weeks at the last stages. We felt like we were a priority from February on and Tim was very responsive whenever we had questions or concerns. Freddy who oversaw our Landscaping has also been very helpful and willing to come by when we have had concerns or questions. Sara was amazing at keeping us very informed and updated every week and sometimes daily and getting answers to us quickly anytime we had questions. All of the teams that Cal Pools sent out for the various stages of the project were respectful and diligent. Like any big construction project like this there many many moving pieces and there will be things along the way that require tweaking. Our advice is to stay on top of things and request what you need in regards to communication early on and request meetings when you are feeling like you need to know more or if you are unsure where things are at or just need something you don’t feel you are getting in the process. Also our advice would be to request a well experienced designer if you are new to having and building a pool built and o your research ahead of time to really determine what you want and need before your design appointment so you avoid the dreaded change orders process lol. We were so new to it all that we had many change orders and that got really confusing for us. This was all brand new for us and felt like a very expensive project for us so we had a fair amount of anxiety along the way. Also it’s just hard having construction crews in your space for that many months on end. So prepare yourself for that mentally. After back to back moves and projects on our previous home we were pretty worn out by the time we moved to Phoenix so that may have contributed to why we were more stressed than some might be by the project. If you don’t work from home you would rarely experience any disruption from the various crews. In the end we are very very happy with the outcome of our project :-) and feel that Cal Pools did a very good job. I do not know how their prices compare to other pool builders so I can’t speak to that part. Mama is happy now with her new pool LOL.

California Pools completed our pool project last year in less than 2 1/2 months. We were very pleased. Only one day off schedule. This year we have had an issue with our heater. Cari Grossman has been our customer service rep and has always gotten back to us with status of issues. When no service tech's were available, our warranty manager came to get things going.Today Trevor and Manny were here to assess our problem further. They quickly diagnosed the issue and handled it. Thanks so much guys.We have had a great experience with California Pools. We highly recommend them.

We just completed a pool, water feature, fire pit and backyard lighting. The job was completed on time with great communication. Rob, Mike and Sarese for excellent customer service. The project was done as projected, a few delays but not without reason. Saris was excellent on communication of schedules. Very impressed with the subcontractors. All very friendly and very good at their trade. Thank you, Cal Pools, for turning our drab backyard into a resort!

This is our first pool and we spent a great deal of time deciding which pool company could help us achieve our goal and make our dream come true. We have a small yard and developed a unique pool design that we shared with several pool companies. We selected California Pools because we felt comfortable with their reputation and warranties. We also like that they managed all aspects of the pool and landscaping detail with their own staff. After several months of construction and fine-tuning, we have a beautiful back yard that looks exactly like my drawings. Our construction manager, Duane Yetton, did a great job communicating with me and finding ways to complete a complex pool design. We had our hiccups, but Duane made sure the job was correctly completed. In corporations with Duane, Stephen Dreher lead a special construction crew to remove an existing patio column, which cleared the way for a beautiful view. Bill Schulis' decking expertise was a natural fit to lead a crew of stone and tile experts that turned our patio and pool in to a work of art. It was a pleasure to watch Jesse Rollin use his pool technology talent to fine-tuning and complete the pool's final phase startup. He makes himself available for questions to assure that the pool works as it should going forward. Steve R. was very good with tile and stone color matching and Shannon Haines, schedule manager, did a great job keeping me in the loop and managing the schedule. California pool company is by far the best pool company in the valley. Their customer service is awesome the correspondence is great, and the workmanship Unbeatable. Please do not waste your time with any other company or build your own pool.

Our overall experience with CPL was considerably favorable, albeit there were some issues that came up during the construction phase. Brian F was our project & design manager and he was ultimately the reason we chose CPL from the bid selection. Brian was responsive, accommodating and detail oriented. He assisted us in developing a design that we are extremely pleased with today. He also addressed a misunderstanding that resulted in a bit of a delay with our project; taking ownership and satisfactorily resolving the issue. Our project manager Pete B was outstanding. Pete’s ethical approach throughout the construction experience was commendable. If something wasn’t right, he was up front in informing us and immediately taking the appropriate corrective measures. His follow up was extraordinary for a guy that is handling so many projects at any given time. Pete continually checked in with us to ensure that we were comfortable and satisfied throughout the process, and he was extremely accommodating, making himself available as needed. During construction I had the opportunity to speak with CPL’s owner Mike S, and it became clear to me why CPL is so customer centric; creating a culture around the customer and their needs.

We met with multiple pool companies before selecting California Pools in Chandler. Our design consultant, Ted Jimenez, was personable, worked within our budget, and really listened to what we wanted. As promised, he stayed in touch with us throughout the project to make sure our questions were answered and we had up to date information about our build. In addition, Matt White, our construction manager followed through with his word and fine tuned all of the details until we were 100% satisfied. Construction can be a challenging process and we always felt supported and heard. We would absolutely use CPL in Chandler again.
