California Pools was excellent! The team of Mike Lillis (designer), Darrin Castillo (superintendent) and Marissa Puzz (construction coordinator) was awesome. Mike listened to our desires for our backyard pool and designed a pool that met our needs and accommodated multiple change orders along the way. Darrin was on-site throughout the construction process and provided periodic updates and pictures since we weren't always in town during the construction process. Marissa was amazing, keeping us informed of the schedule and facilitating schedule changes during the construction process to accommodate our personal schedule while keeping the project moving forward. The app was excellent, providing insight into the schedule progress, allowing messaging with the construction team and providing the opportunity to make progress payments. Both Marissa and Darrin did a great job keeping us informed throughout the entire construction process and provided very timely responses to our questions and requests via the messaging app. The pool start-up and orientation provided by the service technician, Kyle Rochford, was excellent as well. We had a few minor punch list items following the final walk through and start-up which were addressed very quickly and resolved.We are very happy with the finished product. Excellent job by the California Pools team!

California pools built my pool a year ago. The peace of mind that they bring to pool ownership is next level. All of my concerns from start to finish and during ownership are wiped away. Huge huge huge shoutout to Jacob, pool designer, Kathy, service manager, and TREVOR - this guy is THE man. Everyone is so polite, informative, and personal. Love this company

This is our second build with them and we are totally happy with the results. What I enjoyed the most are the supervisors of the job site. DUSTIN AND JOHNY. As far as human beings go you will never find anyone better or any team better in the whole state of Arizona. Everything they promised was taken care of 100% of the time every time. The highest compliment I can give any one is they are men who give their word and keep their word 100%. They made my life so much easier knowing I had nothing to worry about and in the end it was perfect and we were 100% satisfied because of the excellent work ethic of Dustin and JOHNY. The pool looks beautiful and everything works perfectly. Every item that needed fixing they made sure it was done right. I ve built 3 pools in my lifetime and these 2 gentlemen were the best of the best. We also want to give a shout out to Sarah Dugan of the office staff who clearly explained the whole process from start to finish. Quality and fair pricing and guarantees offered give you peace of mind going foward! If you don’t want headaches or problems then California pools is the only place I would ever go. You definitely get what you pay for with a company that can be 100% trusted to get the result you were looking for. Can't say enough about California Pools and Landscape. Working with design planner Paul and construction manager Matt was courteous and professional from start to finish. Everything was laid out in advance, no surprises, proceeded like clockwork. When inevitable issues arose, we worked through several design changes, all without headache. Surprisingly, they even went above and beyond at times, exceeding even our high expectations. Today, we can't believe the paradise we live in, thanks to California Pools and Landscape!

When I started my pool with California Pool Sara was out on leave; however thank goodness she returned, as she is the secret weapon at CPL without a doubt. I was losing my mind with all of the unprofessional unpleasantries that I was experiencing. Sara moved mountains and people to get this pool completed at my home, Michael was a big help in supporting her efforts. I loved working with them both. Sara you are an absolute game changer and most valued in my book of all the staff at CPL, never worked with someone when my troubles seemed endless, your actions where momentous. Our experience with California pools has been an extremely positive experience. Our pool and waterfall is absolutely beautiful. The layout and design is a view from our windows I enjoy seeing throughout my day. We enjoy our evening hours sitting with the pool lights on with the sound of the waterfall. My zen space for sure. Most importantly has been the Warranty department. Shelley has answered all my questions with such satisfactory, caring response with follow up in a timely manner. Everything I expect! Had service done on our beautiful pool, which I still smile every time I'm in it or seeing it light up our backyard. California pool employees are genuinely very helpful and make sure you are satisfied with what they have done. Although he didn't have a part that was needed, only because it was something else that I asked him to check out, he said he would bring one back to me on a specific day and he did!!

Our experience with California Pools. Originally I had left a review in February that wasn’t positive. I am amending our previous review because alls well that ends well even if it did take longer than we expected it would be when we signed the contract in July of 2023. Our project was completely finished April 12th. It took until the end of December 2023 to break ground on our dig. That time period was longer than it should have been in our opinion and communication was very challenging with our designer and there was no other person communicating with us until our Construction manager got involved in late Oct/early November. Typical time frame to get a permit in Phoenix proper is 8-10 weeks. So why it took 5 months to get to our dig we will never know. By February we were still struggling some with communication and made that known. Thankfully they put Sara on our job as our liaison and Tim our construction manager made it a point to connect with us weekly after that conversation. Our experience dramatically improved at that point and the remaining part of the project went smoothly and quickly. Tim was very helpful as well in staying and overseeing our fill and some other parts when we were out of town for two weeks at the last stages. We felt like we were a priority from February on and Tim was very responsive whenever we had questions or concerns. Freddy who oversaw our Landscaping has also been very helpful and willing to come by when we have had concerns or questions. Sara was amazing at keeping us very informed and updated every week and sometimes daily and getting answers to us quickly anytime we had questions. All of the teams that Cal Pools sent out for the various stages of the project were respectful and diligent. Like any big construction project like this there many many moving pieces and there will be things along the way that require tweaking. Our advice is to stay on top of things and request what you need in regards to communication early on and request meetings when you are feeling like you need to know more or if you are unsure where things are at or just need something you don’t feel you are getting in the process. Also our advice would be to request a well experienced designer if you are new to having and building a pool built and o your research ahead of time to really determine what you want and need before your design appointment so you avoid the dreaded change orders process lol. We were so new to it all that we had many change orders and that got really confusing for us. This was all brand new for us and felt like a very expensive project for us so we had a fair amount of anxiety along the way. Also it’s just hard having construction crews in your space for that many months on end. So prepare yourself for that mentally. After back to back moves and projects on our previous home we were pretty worn out by the time we moved to Phoenix so that may have contributed to why we were more stressed than some might be by the project. If you don’t work from home you would rarely experience any disruption from the various crews. In the end we are very very happy with the outcome of our project 🙂 and feel that Cal Pools did a very good job. I do not know how their prices compare to other pool builders so I can’t speak to that part. Mama is happy now with her new pool LOL.

Great coordination and communication especially from the site manager Pete B. and scheduler Sarese S. for without them, this project will be greatly delayed and just plain vanilla. Both are very responsive to changes that provided us the peace of mind and the satisfactory feeling knowing that our project is in good hands. Enjoyed the experience and of course now dipping in the pool and playing on the putting green!

As a first time pool owner California Pools made our experience easy and we love the outcome. Our designer Les created exactly what we wanted. We had a wonderful and very helpful construction manager Pete B working our project along with our scheduler Sarese F. Communication is key and they always kept us informed and we saw Pete onsite regularly making sure we knew what was going on and taking care of our new pool project . We are very happy with the process and our experience with California Pools. I highly recommend them!

Choosing a pool contractor and building a pool can be stressful but California Pools was truly top notch. Our salesman/designer, Tim J, and our construction manager, Sean B, made it a smooth stress-free process. Our pool turned out exactly as we envisioned . Thank you California Pools.

Had an issue with how our cleaning system was working. Gabe showed up, and 5 minutes later it was fixed working perfectly without having to spend big bucks to get it fixed. Great to have such knowledgeable techs who fix things quickly! We had been dealing this this issue for 3 years and who knew it was such a quick fix. Gabe you are wonderful!!!

Excellent design process. It was fun to collaborate on the backyard, pool, styles and materials, but still lean on my knowledgeable experts to make proposals and recommendations so it wasn’t an overwhelming process. The build went fast with great communication and no hiccups. I love the final result! Simple, modern, functional, and beautiful.

First time building a pool and the process was great. There was a little confusion with the design and not fully understanding the options we had, but the building part was amazing. Donny was an amazing project manager. He was on top of everything, and had very minimal downtime between crews. I definitely wasn’t the easiest person to deal with, but Donny did everything he could to give us our dream backyard! Also the construction coordinator Alex made sure I knew everything that was going on and what to expect. I would not want any other people running my pool build.

We did as most customers do and shopped around before ultimately choosing California Pools. We had a few communication issues with our initial design before it was finalized but overall we had a great experience with California Pools. Our project looks amazing and family and friends all mention the great workmanship of the pool, the Ramada and the travertine deck. The entire Cal Pools team was great but there are a few individuals who we must mention. Thank you to Grace Johnson for the assistance, direction and patients in getting our project financed. Even though our project started the day after Thanksgiving we had no major delays. Scheduling through the entire process was easy since Myra Olson kept us in the loop and constantly informed from the onset of the project. It was great to be able to send her an email with questions or concerns and receive a response immediately almost every time. All the crews were very friendly and professional but we have to acknowledge Matt and the masonry crew. Julio and his team did an excellent job with the masonry portion of the Ramada and an excellent job with the travertine paver decking. Great, great attention to detail. We would be remiss if we didn't mention our project manager Pete Barrera. He made himself so accessible and returned calls and emails without hesitation. He dealt with every question or concern we had and that made this experience that much better. I'm sure he had other projects to deal with but he always made us feel like our project was his priority. The fact that he visited the site almost daily even if just for a few minutes helped minimize the number of items on the punch list. Thank you! We definitely recommend California Pools

When my wife an I began researching firms to help us remodel our pool and landscape we researched many firms. Our neighbors down the street had recently had Calpools do work for them and they couldn't have been more impressed. After looking at many different proposals we decided on Calpools. From the very beginning we felt they truly valued our choosing them. Our Project manager, Robby Stubbs was attentive from the get go, helping us design our dream yard and pool. With any big remodel, inevitably there will be revisions and he could not have been more accommodating. With final plan on hand, he introduced us to our Construction Superintendent, Rick Friedenbach. Like Robby, Rick listened and adjusted to make sure everything thing was as we wished for. Keeping everything running like a well oiled machine was Leann Madar, our Scheduling Manager. The Calpools crew were always prompt and professional. As our project wrapped up, Calpools ensured our satisfaction by checking off a punch list of any final details. Dillon was our project manager and Ciera was our point of contact. I always felt like I was a valued customer. The subs on the job worked hard and on an amazing time schedule. Where do I begin?! We just moved here from Chicago to be a part of this beautiful state with its warm weather and warmer people! Decided to purchase a home from Meritage at Sedella in Goodyear. After selecting my lot, I wanted to find the perfect pool company. California Pools was Meritage's preferred pool builder, but thinking that there was a price hike, I vetted 2 other pool companies along with Cal Pools. After speaking with all 3, I flew in from Chicago to meet with Les L. at Cal Pools. LOVE HIM! He listened to what I wanted, heard me when I said I was a "virgin" to pool ownership, designed the pool & landscape as I watched, at the same time talking to me on a personal level. The prices were NOT higher than 1 of the other companies, and company #2 designer never got back to me after the initial call. Pete B. was my construction manager who sent me a text every time something was about to happen or was happening or he called me, and more often than not, he was at my house making sure it was PERFECT! To back him up was Sarese S. from Cal Pools Chandler office who scheduled everything! She sent me emails almost daily! Actually, everyone I had contact with at Cal Pools has been AMAZING! I also have to compliment my construction manager from Meritage Sedella; Frank, who worked with Pete making sure Cal Pools had access to my yard and making sure everything went smoothly! It was so nice to have the pool construction being done alongside the house construction. I cannot recommend California Pools highly enough! Oh! I almost forgot Gabe W. who came out to give us our orientation on how to work a pool! He took his time, was patient, understood us being first timers & gave us his cell for immediate questions! We were referred to California pools be a friend who uses there services. Our current pool service was not working out, our pool was green and full of debris. We called our pool service company multiple times to address the issues with no resolutions. Jesse Rollins came to our house found our filters weren't cleaned, settings weren't right and our pool chemicals were out of control. Jesse was able to drain our pool and get is straight before it caused real damage. Leslie and Bianca scheduled Jesse out promptly and got us taken care of right away. Wouldn't recommend anyone else to my family and friends. Thanks for the great service.

We decided to trust in California Pools for our backyard project and wow they did not disappoint. The fantastic experience started off with our swinger Matt Sauer helping us create our dream. Matt's experience kept us from making some major design flaws all while keeping us to our budget. Our project was then turned over to Darrin Castillo who was our construction manager. Our project was completed by the targeted deadline due to Darrin's professionalism. The company is customer oriented and holds its contractors to the same standards. Thank you Cal Pools!

I've been working with Brian Rau and he has done a great job of designing my front and backyards. Scheduling was quick and easy, Brian is always very flexible to meet my timelines. The design process was great and he was quick to update and make changes as I requested them. I would recommend (and have recommended) Brian and CA Pool to my friends and family. We hired California Pools to replace an old pool and they have totally transformed our backyard! Beginning with the estimate and design process, their staff have carefully listened to what we were hoping for and translated that into a plan we could afford. Robert Lory is our construction manager and he has done a fantastic job of supervising the complex details of executing the design. He has been great at communicating with us every step of the way, and he frequently stops by the site to see for himself how things are going, make sure the work is done to quality standards and to get our feedback. Finally, the administrative processes and communication have been handled by Rebecca Schulte, who has been responsive, thorough and patient. We wholeheartedly recommend California Pools!

First I want to say thanks to the Cal Pool team that was able to make our dream back yard a reality. Jacob, your design expertise made all of our needs and wants come together perfectly. Stephen, you oversaw this whole project and overcame all hurdles thrown at us. Communication was no issue with us, and the portal app made a big difference. We knew that this project was going to take a while, as many variables were going pull or push out dates. Even though some trades had some work not up-to-par, Stephen ensured it got corrected and fixed in a timely manner. Shout-out to Adam for ensuring our soft scape was installed right, and what a difference a few lights makes. Yes, Pool shopping and quoting can be very exhausting. There was something with Cal Pool that made everything more comfortable and enjoyable “Thanks Jacob”. And those Ledge Loungers look great.
