Great American Bake Sale for Local Food Bank
You may remember last fall when we had our annual California Pools food drive benefiting F.O.R. Maricopa? Our employees, subcontractors and customers emptied their pantries and their wallets – it was amazing! We were able to collect more than 2 ½ tons of food and 45 turkeys for the foodbank which services Maricopa and the surrounding communities. Lisa Rollins, one of our employees, became so involved with the foodbank after running the food drive for the past few years, that she now volunteers there weekly! She works behind the scenes to help the foodbank function and they were able to feed 26,000 people in 2009. So, when my friend and I wanted to teach our kids about giving, and heard of the “Great American Bake Sale” we wanted to raise money for F.O.R. Maricopa, an organization we have great respect for. So many of our customers participated in the food drive in November that we thought we would let you know that we are at it again! The Great American Bake Sale is an old-fashioned American bake sale and all proceeds from the sale will be donated to the foodbank. We will be baking with the kids but also would love donated treats if there are any bakers out there! The bake sale is going to be Sunday, April 18th from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at the park in the Gallery subdivision of Fulton Ranch which is located at Fulton Ranch Blvd and Coconino in Chandler. If you would like to donate any baked goods, they can be dropped off at California Pools & Spas office at Alma School and the 60 Freeway on Friday, April 16th, or shoot me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org if you live in south Chandler and I could come pick it up on Saturday, April 17th. If you’re not a baker but have a sweet tooth instead, come by and see us in the big park in the Gallery subdivision at Fulton Ranch (under the ramada). We would love to see you there!
