About This Phoenix Masterpiece

These Phoenix customers were looking to create the ultimate desert backyard environment, taking advantage of their captivating view of Camelback Mountain. Having recently retired and relocated from California, fully immersing into the desert life was a top priority. Our design team went to work creating a relaxing backyard environment with an industrial design to compliment the look of the home. These homeowners had a design background themselves and contributed throughout the process with stylistic design inspirations. Adding in areas for outdoor entertainment and relaxation was also a priority for the new Phoenicians.

This ultimate backyard is centered around the modern industrial pool that is compiled of natural design elements. The connected raised spa, planters and retaining walls all feature a tile that was installed to look like a copper metal. The industrial design elements are also present in the metal roofed ramada, concrete fireplace and the concrete water wall. The Tumbled Noche travertine carries throughout the design by a combination of decking, coping and step pads. There are several destinations for enjoyment of the ultimate outdoor living space; all created to take advantage of the beautiful views and match the modern look and feel of the home.

A Unique Modern Pool & Spa Design

The modern pool and elevated spa are the main attractions in this unique backyard, featuring a special waterline tile that was miter-cut to resemble a single sheet of copper metal. The pool’s Tahoe Pebble Tec interior gives it a vibrant hue, creating an oasis in this desert environment. The pool is elevated 12” above the grade of the yard, ensuring that it is the focal point of the industrial design.

Creating Outdoor Entertainment Destinations

This ultimate backyard offers plenty of space for entertainment and relaxation. In addition to the modern pool & elevated spa, the yard also features a striking fireplace, fire pit and an outdoor kitchen with a sleek metal ramada.

The elevated travertine decking that sits above the pool allows for plenty of space for recreation and entertainment. The firepit serves as a natural gathering spot on cool evenings in the desert.

The outdoor kitchen and sleek metal ramada provide another outdoor destination and a great area to entertain. The island features a bbq grill, ample counter surface area and plenty of storage areas underneath the cooking surface. The stunning design elements that are incorporated compliment the industrial look of the design and tie the elements of the yard together.

Incorporating Design Elements Throughout The Yard

The landscaping on this ultimate backyard adds the final touches to this natural desert environment. There are several variations of cactus, shrubs and groundcover plants that help bring the desert into the yard. There are several large planter boxes throughout the yard that add in color pops and accents to the space.
