A Gilbert Pool Building Experience That’s As Refreshing As The New Pool

I would have CP build a pool any day of the week. Everyone was kind and helpful...always...even after they were paid. We had a couple minor things to attend to.after we closed and they happily attended to our concerns. Marc our first team member he was super helpful through the entire project...he was attentive to all our needs and how we were going to use our pool. At 6:00PM on a Friday he picked up his phone to answer a question that our landscaper had...could not be more pleased with the job the entire CP team did. Thanks CP!

California Pools & Landscape is such a great company! Our sales team, Mike and Joan, explained every option with all the pros and cons of each feature. We were motivated to have a pool and spa for family enjoyment but also for health and special needs therapy. The health benefits surrounding a pool and spa purchase make owning a Cal Pool/Spa almost outweigh the costs. Mike and Joan informed us about features that could be built into our pool to maximize the health benefits for our family, especially for Norah who has Special Needs. One of the things we liked best about California Pools was that they listened. No one tried to sell us! We felt like we were co-creating the backyard of our dreams. The process from beginning to end was seamless. Mike and Joan from sales introduced us to Scott Nagy, our construction manager, who worked with us through the rest of the build all the way to swim. Scott oversaw our project, and he was incredible. It takes great technical expertise to build a pool like ours and California Pools made it look easy. Scott was present every step of the way from beginning to first swim. The construction team kept us up to date and informed about every phase of the project. The people in the office were also on the same page and with the California Pools & Landscape Customer Portal we felt like everyone was on the same team working to keep our project on-budget and on-time. Building a large pool and spa is a very scary and expensive proposition but all those fears and concerns were replaced with confidence and good feelings. California Pools and Landscape are clearly the best at building but what makes them exceptional is that they care- that’s obvious from beginning to end. Thank you for the awesome experience. Our experience with California Pools has been exceptional. We started with a designer, Steve Reichmuth who was so talented and has designed a truly contemporary pool that has been complimented by everyone who has seen it. The workmen and their ethics have been exemplary i.e. working hard during the worst heat and not missing a beat. The staff from the various departments have always been available and knowledgeable i.e. Marci Walker, Scheduling Department, a smile in her voice whenever she called. Shawn Lach, Construction Manager, who always watched over everything and was willing to go one step further if necessary. Mike Smith, who sent text messages to make certain we were o.k. as the job progressed. All the employees and subs were exceptional. I am a Realtor and am fully aware how difficult it is today in Arizona due to our lack of qualified workers. Everyone in the building trade is suffering lack of manpower. Cal Pools completed Phase 1 of our backyard in 2021. The process though not perfect, was a success. Any issue that arose was addressed and resolved with our field Superintendent Jordan Thrasher and the rest of Cal Pools team. Phase 2 - we wanted to install a flush drain in our spa. This required the demo of our spa to relocate the plumbing. With the team of Stephanie Aguirre and Jordan Thrasher, we were able to get this completed minus punchlist within 5 weeks. AMAZING! Demo - Rework plumbing - shotcrete - tile - pebble - clean - fill and enjoy! AMAZING in todays world! Thank You Stephanie and Jordan! Scheduling alone, but the follow up in the field to keep it moving. Drain - Demo - plumbing - shotcrete - tile - pebble - clean - fill and enjoy! :) Working through final punch. We hired CA Pools to remodel our pool and backyard landscape. Aaron Henninger really listened to what we envisioned and was able to design a plan that captured all that we hoped for. Our project manager, Stephen Dreher, was amazing! He kept us informed as to the progress of the project and held the trades to a very high standard that matched our expectations. He was at our home daily and was easily accessible whenever we had a question or concern. We were very satisfied with the progress and the result of our project. We have the backyard of our dreams!

California Pools was excellent! The team of Mike Lillis (designer), Darrin Castillo (superintendent) and Marissa Puzz (construction coordinator) was awesome. Mike listened to our desires for our backyard pool and designed a pool that met our needs and accommodated multiple change orders along the way. Darrin was on-site throughout the construction process and provided periodic updates and pictures since we weren't always in town during the construction process. Marissa was amazing, keeping us informed of the schedule and facilitating schedule changes during the construction process to accommodate our personal schedule while keeping the project moving forward. The app was excellent, providing insight into the schedule progress, allowing messaging with the construction team and providing the opportunity to make progress payments. Both Marissa and Darrin did a great job keeping us informed throughout the entire construction process and provided very timely responses to our questions and requests via the messaging app. The pool start-up and orientation provided by the service technician, Kyle Rochford, was excellent as well. We had a few minor punch list items following the final walk through and start-up which were addressed very quickly and resolved.We are very happy with the finished product. Excellent job by the California Pools team!

This is our first pool and we spent a great deal of time deciding which pool company could help us achieve our goal and make our dream come true. We have a small yard and developed a unique pool design that we shared with several pool companies. We selected California Pools because we felt comfortable with their reputation and warranties. We also like that they managed all aspects of the pool and landscaping detail with their own staff. After several months of construction and fine-tuning, we have a beautiful back yard that looks exactly like my drawings. Our construction manager, Duane Yetton, did a great job communicating with me and finding ways to complete a complex pool design. We had our hiccups, but Duane made sure the job was correctly completed. In corporations with Duane, Stephen Dreher lead a special construction crew to remove an existing patio column, which cleared the way for a beautiful view. Bill Schulis' decking expertise was a natural fit to lead a crew of stone and tile experts that turned our patio and pool in to a work of art. It was a pleasure to watch Jesse Rollin use his pool technology talent to fine-tuning and complete the pool's final phase startup. He makes himself available for questions to assure that the pool works as it should going forward. Steve R. was very good with tile and stone color matching and Shannon Haines, schedule manager, did a great job keeping me in the loop and managing the schedule. I recently had a pool built by California Pools. From the inception of the vision of my pool to the final orientation, the whole process exceeded anything I could have asked for. This was the third pool I had built in the valley and hands down the best so far. Aaron, you captured everything I wanted out of my pool. Sarese was incredible with the scheduling and making sure things got done and Duane oversaw every aspect of the construction. I've made a video from the start of marking the layout of our pool to the finished product. Dave, our salesman, for CA Pools was our first contact and he made us feel very comfortable by going over every detail about the company, pricing, time frame, and if there are any problems. He did not pressure us into signing any contracts and made sure that we were totally educated in all aspects. During our initial visit with Dave we were totally honest with him by telling him that we had other pool companies that we were getting appraisals on. He assured us that CA Pool's will do the best job for us. Within a couple of days Dave called us to let us know that he would be sending, via email, a 3-D rendition of our property and how the pool-that we wanted-would fit in. I was amazed at how fast we got the renditions and everything that we asked for was there for us to see. This is our first pool so we didn't know what to expect once we signed the contract. Once we made the decision to go with CA Pool's we had nothing but the best communication with Dave as well as the people in the office. Any question or concern was immediately addressed and we didn't get the runaround that many companies do. We often felt so good that we were being treated like ROYALTY. Every crew that came from knocking down our wall, getting the heavy equipment in the yard to dig out the earth, plumbing, wiring, steel work, making our steps & benches, holes for our umbrellas, pebbling, tiles, lighting I can go on forever, were remarkable and friendly. After using the heavy equipment a new crew came in to put up a brand new wall and also painted it with the same exact color that our entire area has. Every crew that came cleaned up after they left and were respectful when our dogs needed to go out and do their business-LOL. We would highly recommend anyone to CA Pool's and gladly show them our video so they can rest assure that they chose the right Pool company. The consultation and design by Damian K was impressive and transparent to a point that we signed our contract for the full services of California Pool & Landscape. Stay informed within the CPL Portal, communicate with your scheduling team as well as your site supervisor, but be patient and trust that the wait is worth the reward.

California Pools are the pros in the Valley. Specifically, Robert Lory (project manager) and Rebecca Schulte (scheduler) were most helpful building our pool/spa. Even during the pandemic, they were always in touch, letting us know the status and of any potential delays. If you want to build a pool and/or spa, give California Pools a call, they will treat you well!

Ernie at California Pools in Surprise was incredible! He listened, actually listened, to us during our initial meeting. He was methodical, knowledgeable and extremely patient. Ernie never tried to upsell us, just gave us several options to take into consideration. We appreciate his honesty, integrity and transparency. So far, we've had an amazing experience! California Pools and Landscape recently completed a pool and hardscape remodel in our backyard. We understood going into this project that there were some supplier and contractor delays to be expected during this unusually busy time for pool and construction businesses. While our project took a couple of weeks longer to complete than estimated, the work was done to our total satisfaction. California Pools kept us apprised of all steps in the process, as well as time frames and dates to expect contractors to be on site.All California Pools employees we interacted with were professional, knowledgeable and willing to work with us regarding scheduling. Our project supervisor, Mark B., was always in communication with us and on site when needed. His depth of knowledge in building pools was invaluable to our project. Ashton V., our project coordinator, was always there for us whenever we called. Her communication skills and willingness to do whatever it takes to satisfy the customer are remarkable.All of the contractors involved in our project were professional, always showed up as planned and helpful at every turn. We are totally satisfied with our completed project. We would highly recommend California Pools and Landscape to anyone looking for a new pool or remodel.

Our pool was just completed by California Pools and we couldn't be happier. Our pool is beautiful and looks just like we expected it to when we picked everything out at the design center. The process was seamless thanks to Duane, our California Pools supervisor. The communication with Duane was so easy and he was incredibly responsive with any questions we had. We saw Duane often, as he would come by after each step of the process to check the workmanship of everyone working on the pool. We were stunned at how quickly the pool was ready for swimming once the shotcrete was completed! All of the trades California Pools uses were exceptional. They cleaned up after themselves and completed everything in a timely manner. We have heard nightmare stories from friends and read terrible reviews about other pool companies and we are SO thankful we chose California pools and trusted they would do a good job! A great big thank you to Danni Parnell for her wonderful service and speed in sending a fabulous technician, Alan Vasquez, out to fix my water leveler problem. I'm so glad that I chose California Pools six years ago to fill my backyard with fun. All aspects of this company are GREAT!!

I will update this post in the future with a much longer review of my entire process with California Pools but I wanted to recognize Damian Klymko and Sara Dougan have made the entire process super seamless. If you are looking to get your backyard and pool designed ask for Damian! He did an amazing Job and if you move forward make sure you get Sara on your team. Her communication and willingness to get things moving forward is what made us use California Pools for entire backyard project. Really solid group of people at CA Pools. Also as an FYI pricing is really fair especially compared to other companies we talked to.

I literally could not be happier with my pool. The layout utilized all space and the materials are exactly what I envisioned. Pete B , Sarah D and Aaron H are the epitome of professionalism. If you don’t choose CA Pools, you’ve made the wrong choice. #PERIOD

I have to say that although it has taken quite a long time to get our project built (due to COVID, worker shortages, etc.), from design to our Project Manager, Stephen Dreher, Cal Pools has done great work! Stephen truly has gone above & beyond for us and has really driven the project along. We are close to the end and can't wait to see the finished product.

We were thoroughly impressed with California Pools. Vina and Matt were excellent and communicative through the process. They always got back to us in a timely fashion. Brian was the only designer of 4 pool companies that we talked with that found a solution for our pool equipment, notice it is not in the backyard!!! it is on the side of the house and keeps the pool/spa area quiet. And the Porcelain looks amazing. Was it perfect, no, but it was very good, and when there was an issue they gave me choices, suggesting the best for us long term. We had some minor issues at first, but Travis, Marcee and Jeanie stayed right on top of it to make sure everything ran smoothly. My pool came out better then I thought it would. We had an issue with our existing pool that included two hairline cracks. From initial detection, to leak testing, to the final repair a few months later, Emma was thorough in her follow-up. I'm not sure I would have closed the loop without her helping prompt me along! Thanks, Emma!

Scott and Jordan were great kept in constant communication with me with delays and scheduling. I was very pleased with Scott helping me design my and if I needed changes he was on point. Jordan was on point with the construction from start to finish he answered my calls no matter if it was on a weekend or night. California Pools gave me 5 stars service great company and great team. We are very pleased with California Pools! The process starting from the sales office with Les up to completing the project was easy. We were never disappointed with the team that was assigned to us. Pete our construction manager was great. He was very professional and informative always keeping us I the loop of the project. He had great communication with us. Sarese had a great response time and kept us informed of all our appointments. Everyone we dealt with was very friendly. We are very happy the way our pool came out!

Brian McGrath. That is what you need to know. Brian McGrath. He has made our experience. We had done a ton of research finding a pool company for a new build and met with several other companies. After meeting BrIan for a consultation, learning about the pool options, and seeing his design, our choice was VERY clear. Brian has been there for us and is incredible! He does not shy away from all of the tough questions you may have. We have friends also doing a new build pool and recommendEd Brian. They also have went with him. I have seen their impressive design and happy they have Brian having their back. I wouldn’t want it any other way.

California Pools was phenomenal to work with! Our designer was Jacob who really listened to what we wanted in a new backyard renovation. We were tired of trying to maintain an outdated pool, outdoor kitchen, and kiva fireplace. He helped us stay within our budget and worked with us to create a beautiful and functional backyard masterpiece that we are truly enjoying now. Working with him was a joy and getting to know him personally, as well. Tim who was our project manager and Bill who oversaw the hardscape crew were meticulous about their work. They wanted the job done right and to our satisfaction. Jacob and Tim promptly returned our calls/texts and answered any and all questions that we had with patience. The hardscape crew was outstanding, their attention to detail was impressive. Our project included retiling the lower patio and building a bridge to connect it to an upper 2-tiered patio that has a pergola, hot tub and fire pit area. I would highly recommend California Pools to anyone thinking of creating a beautiful outdoor space.
