California Pools & Landscape Hosts 2026 Cal Cup, Raising $48,000 for Phoenix Children’s
At California Pools & Landscape, building strong relationships has always been just as important as building beautiful backyards. This March, our team, sponsors, vendors, colleagues, and community partners came together at Papago Golf Club for the inaugural 2026 Cal Cup, a day centered on giving back and supporting an incredible cause.
We are proud to share that this year’s Cal Cup raised $48,000 for Phoenix Children’s.
What made the day on the links so meaningful was the shared purpose behind it. The inaugural Cal Cup brought people together from across our community and industry to support the amazing kids, families, and staff at Phoenix Children’s who inspire so many every day.
“We are filled with gratitude that our vendors, suppliers, colleagues, and event sponsors delivered such overwhelming support for the Cal Cup,” said Darren Taburrelli, President of California Pools & Landscape. “It’s inspiring to see what a group of people can accomplish when they’re brought together for a wonderful cause. Surpassing our fundraising goal in our first year is humbling and uplifting, something that we can all be proud of.”
A Day Centered on Community
From the moment guests arrived, the event’s energy reflected everything the tournament was meant to be. Driven by a strong sense of community and generosity, our event sponsors and participants showed up in a big way.
What started as an opportunity to bring people together for a great cause turned into an unforgettable day of camaraderie and giving back. It was a chance to step away from the day-to-day, spend time together outside of the workplace, and make a meaningful impact for Phoenix Children’s.
“As an Arizona native, I’ve seen the impact that Phoenix Children’s has in the valley, and also in the surrounding areas, with children and families often traveling here to receive expert care,” said Tamburrelli. “The staff, volunteers, and, most importantly, the children drive us to come together and maximize our efforts for such a noble cause. Being able to give back to our community inspires our entire team, knowing we all make a difference every day.”
Giving back has been a core value of California Pools & Landscape since we opened our doors in 1988. Being able to give back in meaningful ways and impact the lives of our neighbors and community fills our team with pride. The 2026 Cal Cup was a meaningful reflection of that belief and a reminder of how much can be accomplished when great people come together around a shared purpose.

Making an Impact Beyond the Backyard
The 2026 Cal Cup was an opportunity to tee off to touch lives, and a core effort of our ongoing partnership with Phoenix Children’s. Since 2024, we’ve come together to dive into water safety education, host CPR training, and raise valuable funds for the nation’s best children’s hospital.
In 2025, California Pools & Landscape made a donation for every pool sold, as part of turning poolside bliss into life-saving gifts. We also partnered to launch the Dive Program, which educates caregivers in rural Arizona communities on essential water safety information. This initiative provides valuable training, door alarms, and life jackets to help keep kids safe. Our team was also honored to take part in the annual Give-a-Thon week, helping make an impact during the hospital’s largest annual fundraiser.
These initiatives are part of our efforts to make an impact in our community and give back to those in need. Together, we are making a meaningful impact both in and beyond the backyard.
